N7I2S5 May 7, 2011 at 12:08:39 Specs: Windows 95 & Windows 7, AMD Athlon II X2 250 3GHz / Host: 4 GB RAM, VM: 256MB RAM. Windows 95 VM 'Windows protection error'. Just 'ghosted' a DELL Optiplex windows 95 pc into a VM (ESX 3.0.1). When we power on the VM it gives Windows 95 spalsh screen and seems to boot but stops with 'Windows Protection Error'. Safe mode did boot ok once after this but VM now no longer boots.

I was able to install Windows 95 version C in the same way as the Windows 95 Installation guide here on dosbox using a Windows 95 C CD and Partionned 2GB hard disk of FreeDOS. On the right is another little paper sticker with 6904 and cox s underneath.
I have checked various other websites but they only start the numbering from 40000 in 1908.
Please if anyone has different resources to discover the age I would be very interested to know - is it a pre-1900 perhaps ?
